OUR WINES

Piemonte Doc Chardonnay Organic

Produced from Chardonnay grapes and a small percentage of sugar-rich Sauvignon Blanc grapes, grown in our estate vineyards, our “Piemonte Chardonnay” is now available in a new second version thanks to its aging in casks. It has a beautiful golden yellow color and its bouquet offers notes of vanilla, caramel and ripe fruit. A selection of aged cheeses would be the perfect pairing with this wine.

THE VINEYARDS

The nine hectares of vineyards in one single formation, at an altitude of around 300 metres above sea level, form an impressive amphitheatre surrounding the buildings of Tenuta Tamburnin. They rest on ferrous-clay soils with the presence of red clays.
The grape varieties from which the wines of Tenuta Tamburnin are brought to life are typical of the territory (Freisa and Malvasia, Bonarda, Barbera and Nebbiolo). Some international varieties (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot) were introduced on a small area in order to complete the range of the vineyard’s production.

The vine training system used is espalier with Guyot pruning in which 6-7 buds are left, and the harvest is manual.
Some of the vines at the winery are more than 40 years old, while others are recent. The cultivation methods used provide very limited yields which offer undoubted benefits to the quality of the wine production. No pesticides are used in the vineyards.

Since 2020 the winery has been classified as organic, pursuant to Article 29, par. 1 of EU Regulation no. 834/2007.
